So here’s the thing. I don’t know if the moon is really influencing the things I want to manifest in my life. It might. What I do know is that having a monthly check in with what I want from my life (new moon), and then another check in with how that’s going (full moon), can only be a good thing. So welcome to my good thing.
The moon is keepin’ me accountable!
I started this blog right around the new moon of January 6th, so a lot of my manifestations have to do with the blog, and with the new year. But this is just a month’s worth of ideas, so here are the things I want to manifest this month.
New Moon Manifestations for January 2019
Please note how all the manifestations are in first person present tense! That’s an important one that I learned from Girl Wash Your Face!
1. I am interviewing for jobs that light me up.
In a past life (aka last year) I was a marketing executive for high tech startups in the high-stress Silicon Alley of NYC. Needless to say, it stressed me out and ruined my health (thank you acupuncture for healing me). So I’m now freelancing with a few clients and actively pursuing a more meaningful and kind work environment. I have a job spreadsheet where I keep track of applications, and I’m also reaching out 1 on 1 to friends directly asking for help finding positions and getting meetings and interviews.
2. I have dogged determination no matter what …aka “be more like Leah Remini”
Last year I had a lot of setbacks that really bummed me out and slowed me down. However, after reflecting on my last year using the magical Year Compass, I realized — a setback is just a tiny blip! When you zoom out, you really do wish you’d just paid all the rejections no mind and continued on the path you want. That’s where my head’s at. I’ve also been watching a lot of Leah Remini clips, and her hard-core determination and zest is so inspiring. This month I’m determined to …stay determined.
3. I am running a lifestyle blog that is growing in traffic, and all of it’s pieces and parts are all functioning
Blogs aren’t exactly plug and play. There are a lot of elements. I was lucky to work with Millennial Boss on getting this lil’ blog guy all set up, and so I feel pretty confident in my next steps. But, as I tell my coworkers as I’m plodding through the steps of any project, “THINGS TAKE TIME!”
4. I am spending time with people and places that give me energy.
What can I say. I am a giver. Which also means that I let my energy get out of balance a LOT. So I’m really leaning in to being in places and around people that give me energy.
And no, giving energy is not the same as being around places that I can TAKE energy. In my circle of friends, I’m known as the Energy Vampire. This means I can go to a big group gathering and be dead when I walk in the door and bouncing off the walls an hour later. But it’s not the same as going somewhere where energy is being given … no GIFTED … to me. That’s the vibe I want to ride this month.
I don’t wanna be an energy vampire! I wanna be an energy crystal, charging on the moon, living my best life next to a succulent. Metaphorically.
5. I’m actively pursuing love.
I was just talking to my roommate last night about love. I basically was like,
“Well, I’d rather get married this year MORE than Id like to NOT get married this year.”
Which … if you know me, is major. Eeek!
This pursuing love manifestation is tough because you have to face fears, and admit that you weren’t pursuing love (or were doing a bad job of it) in the first place. Well I don’t care. I’ve made my list of places to meet possible partners in NYC (maybe I’ll share it!) and I’m doing some mental work with really seeing myself as lovable. This is something I’ve struggled with before, so yo.
To keep myself on track for these goals, I’m using some resources:
- A bullet journal!
- Visualizations as described in the book Infinite Possibilities
- A morning routine thanks to The Fabulous App
- Cold showers almost every morning! (HT to the Art of Manliness for the idea which is hilarious)
- My career and career outreach spreadsheet (Here’s the template! Make a copy!)
- Vedic Meditation
- Friendship!
If you’re curious about any of them, reach out! I always love to write about what you all want first.
The next full moon is on January 21. We’ll see how I do. I’ll be checking back in!
